Let’s Do It Better – 3 Real Readers’ re-introduced rooms get our trusted decorating advice

[ad_1]

The other week, for fun, Marlee posted a story asking fans if they needed advice in their homes. It was meant to be an Instagram thing, but we decided it would be silly not to share our suggestions on the blog, too! So that’s what we’re doing today. Here are 3 rooms, 3 different design problems, and 3 (or more) solutions. Let’s jump right in!

Accent wall…

First shift, of course it’s not scary, but we have some suggestions to give his ideas to get the look we think you want. Also, as a general “rule” design, the back walls are hard. It was a big trend in the early 2000s, but since then, designers advise them without drawing attention to an architectural feature, such as a nook. Arlyn wrote a great post about it here. They are advised because they feel attacked and block your eye immediately. I think that’s what she feels about him.

We are not sure if this room is part of the open concept plan; If not, we suggest that with truth and paint all the walls like Rynn did in the last home. It feels very purposeful and keeps the eye moving throughout the space. Then, if it’s on a budget, a deep, colorful rug can really help balance the space. Also, going up in size will also make the space feel smarter. Similar to Rynn’s home, we recommend relying on targeted furniture and decor. In conclusion, we think that the most prominent argument is that the space does not feel limited. Therefore, by painting all the walls and relying on those rich tones throughout will correct that.

And for fun, here are some contest options for a reminder of what the space looks like 🙂

Aermer Copper Rug | A beautiful wool Plaid Revibles Rug

In what we gather from the baskets on the wall, the love pattern is not a problem. Both of these rugs are rich and warm with a pattern that won’t overwhelm the room. The Copper Rug is less neutral and has a similar vibe to the baskets, while the brown and blue are a little more unexpected and modern.

Pierce & Ward Deco Border Handwoven Wool Rug | Katasha checked out the wool rug area

After that, if they want to choose a rug with a pattern on the bottom, I think that this gold-colored rug would be very nice and complement the light color of the wall. Or they can get it on the ground but they add a checkered richness that will speak to the bricks in the fireplace.

I hope this helped!

A bathroom that needs more color

This fan indeed You want to add more color because you think there is too much white. Well, you’re scared because we got it. The good news is that this is a beautiful bathroom, so this will be a breeze.

We decided to really recommend some decorative changes. Can they paint the walls? Of course. But we don’t think it’s necessary to inject a healthy dose of color to cure his “diseased” Blues. Naturally, there are two Mood boards (we can’t help it), and we derive the style and other colors from what was there – flags, and the traditional look of today.

Deco Blossom Shower Curtain | Blair Fur Fass Brass 3-Light Bath Light | Half Half afternoon afternoon bath stick | V hook Curchain Curtain rings | Sahar Bath Mat | Raspberry Vine Print | Caspian Soap Pump | Marble Toothbrush Mug | Metalla trash can | Candle | Luxe Faux Marble Bath Tray | A black toilet seat

This first one is strictly blue, but we love that Shower Curtain so much that we couldn’t put it down. Speaking of the shower curtain, they should get a rod, hang it from the ceiling, and make sure the curtain is long enough to almost touch the floor. This will make the whole room taller. Now, as you can see, we have met the bells. This is perfectly acceptable, but make sure that each instrument looks balanced. However, we do, however, feel that the rod should match the Showerframe of the bathroom. Then, while it’s not necessary, we liked the idea of changing the existing brass vanity light to warm the space. Just an option. Remember when I said instrumental tones should be balanced? That’s why the soap pump and the dirt pump are also copper. High, medium, and low brass. And if you’ve been paying attention, then you know our deep love for Burgundy. It’s a rich, warm neutral that may be anything but stunning, and it’s the perfect match for green. So that bathroom tile and tray (that would work over the indoor tank) are great additions and will really add the color this fan is looking for. But its current wash basin can be large. Now, on the toilet seat, I’m a Pro Black Seat Cover. I have it myself, and I think it really makes the room look a lot better. It feels vintage but not old, and since this is a modern bathroom, it’s kinda perfect, right?? I also love the extra green design of the footbrush holder and candle. Finally, a piece of art. There is nothing wrong with a good piece that they have, but it looks small and / or hangs too much. So if they are looking for a new piece of art, I like this idea of this print because it has all the tones of the established color palette, but they are slightly saturated / bright to add a little pop to the whole place.

Deco Blossom Shower Curtain | Blair Fur Fass Brass 3-Light Bath Light | Half Half afternoon afternoon bath stick | V hook Curchain Curtain rings | Sahar Bath Mat | VELAS, VINHO E FLORES EMPIL ART PRINT | Caspian Soap Pump | Marble Toothbrush Mug | Wicker Wasket | Candle | Rattan Tray | A black toilet seat

This Mood board relies heavily on warm tones, so you can see a color with the same color but with a different color emphasized. We also took out the waste bin and tray to be in eco-friendly materials, because bathrooms have a lot of hard surfaces like tile and stone. Oh, and that amazing print too, a bold version of all the colors is a new addition. The only thing I didn’t mention is that the mirror can also be turned off, if they want. It’s perfectly fine, but a slimmer frame can feel limited in space. I think a black frame would be the perfect color, but silver or bronze would also look amazing. Happy decorating!!

Adding character to a Builder’s grade kitchen

Now, this fan has a nice kitchen, but given that the builder grade, they really want to add more character to it. Obviously, it is very modern, so we hesitate to recommend going “Vintage Too”. That doesn’t feel right for a design like this because it can feel like there’s too much of a difference. It is as if they are fighting each other instead of working in harmony. We just say that because when most people hear “character,” they mostly think “add all the vintage”. Keep reading 🙂

So what we’re going to recommend is a little vintage, but mostly things that add color and texture. It’s about adding personality, right? With that being said, the biggest change they could make is the handles. The silver combination at the moment did not help the space to feel warm. But to be fair, the colors of the Cabinet are also not warm, so adding a light gold pull that would be too different (and might be visible) is not the answer. So what can work??

Lacquered oak wood “Join” Cabinet Wicker | Oval Bar Wood Handle Cand Cont

At first we thought that it was drawn with wood in the middle of wood. They can warm up the cabinets a bit and be an unexpected choice. Another problem is that we couldn’t find any wood pulls longer than 12″, and some of those cabinets look longer than that. It’s a way, but we think we have a better idea.

Linear pull copper | Antique brass cabinet pulls

Copper. It doesn’t make sense like BOLD copper, and it looks like it’s easy to find options that aren’t. We think this would be the best option for what they have. Warm but not too warm, you know? 🙂 PLUS, we love the integrated details like the one above has.

The decoration is planned!

Vintage bamboo basket

We want to start with the area above the cabinets. Right now, all they have are dark brown baskets that look very similar to Gray Enderwome’s brown cabinets. A kind, warm rich basket like this one (and others) would look great there. Textured, warm, and just right without makeup.

Orcino Green Marble Fruit Bowl | Hand carved Olive Wood Bowl

But as we said at the beginning of this space, decorating with all Vintage is not a step in the modern kitchen. So I add pieces like this beautiful green marble bowl (and it also adds a great rich color) looks amazing shown above the cabinets. The same goes for these hand molded bowls. They are not vines, but they have a lot of texture and movement. The main thing when decorating an area like the above cabinets is to make sure that all your pieces are the same height, and that they are big enough to make a visual impact when you look down on them. Create levels and don’t forget the scale!

Handmade Studio Pottery Polka Dot Utensil Holder | XL Tansil Holder

We also think this kitchen could use more color and/or pattern. We love the well-placed polka dot, and the Utensil holder is just the right amount. But you know a splash of color is just as impactful, and you bet nickey kehoe sells the best Green Weeder owner in town 🙂

Rattable Tone Touch Table Lamp | Ryland led the lamp table

This can be deceptive because it is clear that this kitchen gets a lot of action with at least one child living under its roof. But if they can clear a small corner, we like the lamp in the kitchen. It adds a lot of personality, ambiance, and guaranteed character. Both of these are repeatable, so there is no need to take up any real estate space.

Moon face vine dinner dinner | Antique dinner plate top | My greatest love in life is the bagel palette

Well, at first, the idea was that maybe you hung a mix of modern vintage plates on the backsplash of the tile, but obviously, it would be difficult for the holes to be secured, and there would be a problem with the greing grese cooking. However, we still think that maybe the wall by the window or the wall next to the fridge would be options. Whether it’s one vertical row of plates or more of a gallery like this. The great thing about plates is that they are great for shaking, too! But again, with this kitchen, make sure it is at least a mix of contemporary and antique.

To the people who posted, thank you! And when we do this again, those who were not selected clearly look again, and also, we definitely make sure to ask our blog-only readers too

I love you, it said.
