8 cute and cozy outfits for Thanksgiving (+ our rules for the perfect find)

[ad_1]

A few years ago, I discovered the joy of the ‘thanksgiving dress.’ What is a Thanksgiving dress, you may ask?? A well-made / well-maintained dress that is very flowy and comfortable but makes you feel good (even if it’s Suku cooking all day and you’re full of food all day). I found an amazing one at J.crew that you bought and loved a ton of it a few years ago (no longer available, but here’s one on posphmark for a lucky buyer). I still wear it almost every year, and to be honest with you I do! And, it turns out that shockingly, most of the EHD never really caught on in the grateful brain. So this year we thought – why not, follow my rules and see what Thanksgiving dresses are on the market this year that each of us likes? Spooner: We all got some good ones. Here are our rules for finding the perfect outfit:

  1. Flowny & Comfy (Supposedly breathable enough to cook all day or just stand in at your grandma’s 90-degree house)
  2. Plaid colors / fall / fall colors (prints are usually more forgiving and fun to wear)
  3. Bonus points if it has pockets!! .

Okay, let’s look at the clothing line!

Dress size: Medium (Blue) + Small (Pink)

I found these two dresses when I started my search and I was so impressed that they are so cute! They are very nice and rushed, so there is no need to wear a bra (for small chested girls like me, at least), and the plaid is just lovely. I got a medium and a small, and they both fit perfectly. The blue is a line and the pink is small – I actually think I prefer a medium and I tend to run small, so don’t be afraid to size up!

I fell in love with this dress when I saw it in the store, so I had to snap it up! It’s super flowy (check), has the cutest pattern (check), and sadly, no pockets, but its style was so perfect that I said we got it. The sleeves are long but stay up, so you can cook, which is great. Absolutely love the yarn with the little tie – very festive, breathable and stylish. Also, I need a spray tan lol

I like Emerson Fry clothes a lot – they are very easy to wear, they are very well made, and the patterns are always very good (cheap versions try, but really try). This one (I bought from Evereve) has covered buttons all the way down, an open tie at the waist, slightly puffed sleeves, and a large chocolate flower pattern. All of those combined create a very flattering, gorgeous, well-constructed dress that’s so important for Thanksgiving (but also just as good for fall/winter wear). This is lightweight and drapey (in cotton). I also want to give this dress a shout out, I have the summer version, and wear it all the time. It’s also very intoxicating, very flattering, while not convincing. I don’t need both, but I want it, too, just because they are such creatures that are easy to wear and feel good inside. I’m wearing a little brown, but if you’re in the middle. I’m halfway through the Frances dress, and it still fits perfectly (because it drapes well).

Hello from my childhood home! As a clue, I come from a small family – my youngest – my mother and me! – So the idea of ”attire “iving” is foreign to me. But my boyfriend’s family is big, and I’m very happy that I wore a $98 dress to wear to all their celebrations this holiday season! I was not familiar with TuckerNuck’s measurements – My measurement 36F, in particular, seemed to be suitable for XL – but I found it too big to be the right thing. It has a line and a figure (read: you will be able to put a large dish), but the cut is not too bad either win – they did a great job of pulling the fabric to show off your design! It’s not a complete senseless sack. I have a piece of black tartan paper over a traditional plaid with a tie, because it feels like it has a lot of staying power throughout the winter months. I wish this one had pockets, but I have no complaints otherwise – I think it’s a steal for the price. (Ps. If pliad isn’t your thing, this dress comes in other colors and 18 patterns!)

Dress size: 36/4

Historically, I am not a girl to thank for the dress. Don’t tell Mallory! Nothing against the medium, but usually I throw on a fall top and jeans and call it a day. I also didn’t (past tense here is important) feel like the old Thanksgiving hats were my style. So when the idea for this post came up, I thought, “I’m not going to find anything I actually like, but I’ll see.” Yes, when you take the innocent inside the sezane pop-up shop in the grove, the most impressively dressed person will have a change of heart. My plan was to go in, find something I might be able to return (because I knew it wouldn’t be cheap), but I really liked the honest compliment, and I honestly called it a Day. The day couldn’t be called the way I planned, and I walked out with this amazing dress and belt that I will never take back.

This small amount is comfortable and lightweight! Perfect for a filling dish 🙂 and, those sleeves are so dreamy and my favorite part. On the site, the model is wearing this Blert for Dress Sans and Slouchy. It’s very good for him, but I just felt with my 5”4 “frame, I wanted some structure … Which is how I ended up with my new favorite addition … This mahogany patent leather. The style reaches you, and it’s clear, the dress is a good value for a long time when it was not written down and pulled a little. I got a bigger size than I wanted on the page with a belt at the waist because I wanted to wear it with jeans. Buying a cheap dress belt one was not something I would do. I even asked a very cool sales rep if bellting hats were a big deal, and he assured me that the look was back. I’ll just make sure to stay away from the super tight, asstic asstic, and everything should be fine It took them 2 seconds to do it. What I love about this dress is that it feels fall but not too tight. Plums and pinks make it unsuitable for winter and spring too! For colder conditions, just add tights and boots. I tried and tried with my plum colored flats, now, I plan to be very happy and have a california dinner style for the whole look.

Dress size: A lot / always

I’m not a big beginner at gratitude. I come from a family of three Muskekers, which means it’s just me and my parents, and it’s great that we spend the whole day planning an amazing meal for ourselves. Our extended family lives far away, neither of us likes to cook, and it’s one of those holidays where we don’t really care about dressing up. Sorry ‘Bout It! Raguses are about as counterintuitive as they come, which makes it an interesting challenge to find an outfit that can (mostly) cross Mal’s list while still feeling close to our typical family outfit, namely sweatpants. The one I got isn’t fancy (but it’s not sweatpants either) and I know I’ll be wearing it pretty much every day. This is a beautiful mini shizo wearing the Banana Republic factory black factory. I like that it’s natural and written, it gives me a “wait, is this flannel shirt with a pleated skirt?” Comfort is a feeling. I love long sleeves and where they hit my arm. Also, how the skirt kicks up a bit on the body. It can be inserted into the waist (dinky) holes But be warned, it can be a “cardboard box”. It’s pretty darn comfy, easy to wear, and inexpensive! And I think she looks good enough to keep. Normal suits me best. My one stop? There are no pockets.

Morley

Wear | Black V Neck Sweater | Cardigan (other colors) | Shoes (vintage)

Height: 5’8″
Dress size: – Small

When I heard about Mallory’s dress code, I thought, “I’m not sure that could happen to me.” Flow and taste – simple enough. Plaid or print? Maybe … I find that I have a little inconsistency in the print “anything that is not a stripe). And even if I found something that hits two of those requirements? There is no way with pockets … well, I saw this dress in the free people of the people that I was drawn to. Nice flowy shape with a small leg, nice velvet detail / border on the collar, and I had a hard time deciding between the two color ways. So I went out to the FP store in Portland, and they had it in this red color. I could wear it to dinner as a “Skirt” with a sweatshirt over it (see left photo), but I would also totally show off the velvet details at a dinner party or on a date and dress it up with a cardigan (right). And … you can imagine how proud I was when I found out that it had pockets! 3: 3!

I’m so happy all my girls got the perfect Thanksgiving outfit that looks amazing! I hope this was helpful for you and a nice little reminder that we are almost a month away from Turkey Day 🙂 Happy shopping!
