The river house game room reveals (everyone wants to be in it)

[ad_1]

I directed you, I was throwing. I even sold it hard as “My favorite room in the house,” and today you’re going to see it (and do it yourself). Although I love love the living room (coming soon) and I probably give that medal more often, I nail this room with very little effort (it’s okay without marking the walls behind the bad black paint). I actually think this is more of a way for me than my home at times (which, as you know, is more of a traditional blue house, but the whole room is blue / the whole room has my heart).

Logging in

This room had a lot of help from Anne Esher, the architect who put this room in the house with really good light, big windows, and very high ceilings. So, in terms of odds, we were already winning with his formation. Or maybe I should give Stuga credit for this floor we put on the walls (we used Drift – it’s perfect) because I’ve been changed, I’ve got you out of this room, emotionally. TIL FIM did the American part (or ended up selling and moving, lol).

The walls

Wall panteling | Wood flooring | Electric piano | Art | Squeeze

Therefore, all the walls are good to be installed in the stuga movement, installed horizontally. We had a ton left over from the entire ceiling, and while we didn’t like the dark blue room, we were very happy to be able to tackle the wood. It just makes the room warmer and easier to design. It’s a quick thing. The electric piano is the same one we have – Roland has put it in Faux White Ok which looks great. On top of it, we created 6 drawings of unusual men with “Bedeupree” that are very white and sweet (and they look perfect here). Target frame ftw.

game room

Cold Color | Glass | 4 in line game

Cabinets and cabinets are painted in a soft taupe called Malabar, drawn from lighter wood tones. Inside the cabinets is their printer and household items. And above I whispered about the many things I had at my own risk and sent Katie and Ken on a trip to Powell to buy a bunch of books they wanted (and then added this, which is very nice and embarrassing).

Katie says they are all so drawn to this room for games, chess, puzzles, homework – it’s just the room they want to be in and it’s close to the kitchen and living room.

Rug | Seats | The table

We have provided a rug from our old collection, which has many tones of blues and greens in it. I always wanted this rug to be more plush (because I want every rug to be plush), but man, the color is so pretty, and the light stripe is really nice. We got a nice black table from Allmodern, and Katie went (at my request) with these chairs from home. Listen, this room is the first room you see when you enter the house. These chairs had to be beautiful and special. The color is divine.

Planting

Oh, and yes, they have glass pocket doors that close, although I have no idea what their purpose is, other than they look really cool. They don’t make a lot of noise, but maybe a little? I love the look of them and it wasn’t something I was responsible for valuing them, but I love how they turned out.

Oscar sofa Long lumbar pillow (similar) | Cabinet Hardware | Drawer Hardware

OMG. What are you doing there??! Giving “Belle” Hard (But wearing French clothes and heels?). We’re featuring our Oscar Sofa in navy blue here, the cushiest, most comfortable (and best-selling navy blue velvet) sofa in our collection. We were seriously considering applying it to the sides of the cabinets (and I’m thinking of even threading it), but I never did (and I’m not sure we ever will).

Chandelier | DeclorViw

The chandelier is killing me. It’s huge, in width and height, it really commands attention on a very tall ceiling. It is a work of art, a sculpture, and still provides perfect lighting. It’s from blue light, which means you can customize the colors of the enamel and the metal. We chose Pearl and Charcoal with Natural Brass and threw enough that you can see it completely without looking up, but it won’t block the view too much. It’s complete.

This room needed a window treatment because it faces west, so we worked with decorView to add motorized shades in a soft taupe. We wanted it to go through kinda instead of being a feature. And since the top window is so high, the remote easily controls up and down.

The putnam ladder

It’s not a super eclectic room with lots of surprises. But my goodness, it’s tone, tone, light, and easy to pull in and make you want to curl up on the couch or play connect four (obviously, lol). The ladder is from Putnami, which we wrote about here. We chose the silent glide version with walnut stain and double roller. It can be pulled upright for easy storage, but it goes over the front of the sofa easily.

The Green Chair

The piano came with the same convertible bench, but I got this stop from World Market and it just looks so much better 🙂

Faux Potted France | Entry Table (no longer available) | Blueprint sconce

A big shout out to one of the prettiest faux trees I’ve ever seen (used many times in this house). I really like this shot. The table in the back was mine, from the stores that the cities could find years ago, and it doesn’t stay here, but we added it with a shot. It made me move to get a small piece here (the circle is very offensive, but it can be a side board or a demiline).

The dandelion

Tones, colors, richness, and yet light. Yes, I know this may not be everyone’s cup of tea (maybe too simple or not maximalist enough for many), but I am proud of this room and how well it sings.

My brother’s family loves you. I think it’s Katie’s favorite room, too (though again, wait until you see the living room). Easy to live in, easy to maintain, bright, yet warm space that invites you into the house and sets the tone. It sounds balanced with warm and cool tones, enough contrast to POP, but very quiet. Its 100% my vibe, and we will live happily ever after together.
